AERIAL YOGA
In addition to the emotional and physical benefits of all yoga practice, Aerial yoga has particular benefits for strengthening and stretching the whole body, decompressing the spine, improving circulation, boosting digestion and lifting one's mood. In particular, Aerial yoga strengthens the core as well as the arms and legs, to support the body in mid-air.
Aerial Yoga is a practice that uses a soft fabric hammock, supporting up to 2000 lbs, suspended a few feet off the ground. The hammock is a prop like a strap or block, intended to assist alignment, deepen awareness and provide immediate benefits of spinal decompression. With the weight of the body partially or fully supported along with the help of gravity and the fabric, we explore and create space in our bodies as intended in traditional Yoga practice.

One of the biggest benefits of aerial yoga is its ability to create a safe environment for beginning students to go upside down. Inversions are so beneficial, but are often unavailable to many practitioners. Not in aerial yoga! The silk hammock supports and stabilizes the body and allows even the first time student to invert safely and receive the countless benefits of being upside down! Plus, it’s a ton of fun! So don’t be fooled by the flips and tricks (although we love those too!), aerial yoga is for all levels. Beginner and advanced practitioners alike will love the snug hug and gentle rock of the silk hammocks in savasana.
